Randolph AFB serves as headquarters of the Air Education and Training Command and is known as "the Showplace of the Air Force" because of the Spanish Colonial Revival Style architecture in which all structures are constructed. The host unit at Randolph is the 12th Flying Training Wing. The base operates parallel runways on either side of its main installation and conducts continuous flight training operations at all hours.
