Charleston Air Force Base is now part of Joint Base Charleston
Charleston AFB home to the 437th Airlift Wing which operates the C-17 Globemaster III strategic airlift aircraft. Augmenting the 437th and co-located there is the 315th Airlift Wing of the AF Reserve. A joint civil-military airport, Charleston AFB shares runways with Charleston Int Airport. USAF controlled, Charleston AFB has merged with Naval Weapons Station Charleston and is now known as Joint Base Charleston.
