Coast Guard Station Fort Macon is located at 2301 East Fort Macon Road, Atlantic Beach, NC 28512 in Carteret County, NC.  The station is on Bogue Banks, a barrier island off the NC mainland.  Morehead City, Newport, and Havelock, NC all lie nearby across the Bogue Sound to the north of the station as well as the Marine Base MCAS Cherry Point which is near Havelock.   At the other end of Bogue Banks lies Coast Guard Station Emerald Isle, also part of USCG Sector North Carolina.  In between the two coast guard stations are the towns of Atlantic Beach, Pine Knoll Shores, Indian Beach and Emerald Isle, NC.
