Located in southern Illinois in the greater St. Louis area, Scott AFB is home to the 18th Air Force (AF), the operational component of Air Mobility Command (AMC). It is AMC's only Numbered Air Force (NAF) and the Air Force's largest NAF. 18th AF executes air mobility missions worldwide. Active-duty units reporting to the 18 AF include units in MD, SC, DE, TX, FL, Southwest Asia, and more.
Scott Air Force Base is also home to AMC’s "Showcase Wing,” the 375th Air Mobility Wing. The wing's operational mission is to provide air mobility operations through its fleet of C-21 aircraft and its partnerships with the Guard and Reserve in flying KC-135 and C-40 aircraft.

The wing owns 14 C-21As that operate at Scott Air Force Base and provides maintainers and aircrews for the KC-135 and C-40 missions who work alongside Guard and Reserve personnel. The wing also has responsibility for the 375th Aeromedical Evacuation Training Squadron at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, which is responsible for all AES qualification training in the Air Force.
The 375th Air Mobility Wing hosts mission partners including U.S. Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM), Cyberspace Capabilities Center, 635th Supply Chain Operations Wing, a Reserve airlift wing (932nd Airlift Wing), an Air National Guard refueling wing (126th Air Refueling Wing), the Surface Deployment Distribution Command, the Defense Information Systems Agency, the Defense Information Technology Contracting Office, 15th Operational Weather Squadron, the USAF Band of Mid-America, and others.

Arrival Lodging
The Scott Inn provides temporary lodging facilities, consisting of 85 fully furnished, three-bedroom homes. Each unit contains the items needed to set up a temporary home. A limited number of pet-friendly TLF units are available for an additional nightly fee. Lodging also maintains a list of kennels in the local area. TLF reservations can be made up to three months in advance.
