Yuma Territorial Prison Park: Since 1876, this historical site has seen many changes. After a surge of immigrants during the gold rush, the site served as a prison and was built by prisoners. After that, it filled in as a high school after the local school burned. The school athletic team became known as "The Criminals." Later, it was used as the county hospital and then served as living quarters for traveling families and the homeless during the Great Depression, among other functions. Today, it’s an incredible site to tour and explore.
