Schofield Barracks is the largest Army post in Hawaii, located on an 18,000 acre site in central Oahu. The base was established in 1908 to provide mobile defense of Pearl Harbor and the entire island and is home to the 25th Infantry Division, known as the "Tropic Lightning Division", as well as the Command Headquarters for United States Army Hawaii.
