The airport is a joint use civil-military airport located five miles south of the central business district of Springfield, OH. The mission of the 178 FW is to train future active duty Air Force, Air Force Reserve Command and Air National Guard fighter pilots in the F-16 Fighting Falcon.

Homes - Youngstown Air Reserve Station

Youngstown Air Reserve Station is located at the Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport. The host wing for the installation is the 910th Airlift Wing (910 AW), an Air Force Reserve Command unit operationally gained by the Air Mobility Command. The 910 AW is a unique organization in the Air Force in that a portion of the wing's mission is devoted to the Department of Defense's only fixed-wing aerial spray mission.
