  How long does it take to see my ad online?
  

If you pay by credit card you should see your advertisement online immediately.  If you choose to pay by check (snail mail) your advertisement will go online as soon as a MilitaryByOwner.com editor has reviewed your ad.  This will be accomplished within 12 hours.

  How do I open an account ?
  To place an advertisement on MilitaryByOwner.com you will need to establish an account.  Near the top left side of our homepage, you will see a button that says "Sell/Rent your Home".  Follow this button to review our ad packages.  Once you select an ad package you will be prompted to establish an account, from there you will be able to set-up your property advertisement.

  Can I advertise my property with multiple military facilities?
  MilitaryByOwner allows advertisers to associate their properties with up to three military bases.

  Can I get a credit if my house sells/rents before expiration date?
  We view advertisements online for only a short period of time as a success. Therefore, we do not provide a credit or partial refund for advertisements that do not stay online the full term of the advertisement.

  Do you have to be military in order to use this service?
  No.  MilitaryByOwner was created to help military families advertise and find homes near their next duty station.  Our marketing efforts are directed only to the military, but we do not restrict access to the site.

  Is there a way to find out how many times an ad has been viewed?
  Yes.  When you login to your account and view your current advertisements you will see an ad counter that indicates how many times your individual details page has been opened.

  Does MilitaryByOwner offer an option of including home advertisements to the local MLS listings so real estate agents will find it?
  No.  We do not have a relationship with any of the regional MLS databases.

  How do I access the "on-line chat?"
  On our Homepage and all Base Pages you will find a banner on the left side of the page with Live Chat Hours of Operation below a picture of a woman's face.  Click on the banner and a window will open.

  Do you provide forms (credit, applications, etc.) to perspective renters?
  We do not provide forms, but we do have an affiliate relationship with U.S. Legal Forms, LLC that provides state specific legal forms.  You can find a link to U.S. Legal Forms on the left side of most pages within the site.

  If my house sells through MilitaryByOwner do I have to pay you a percentage, or do I only owe you what I pay to run my ad?
  MilitaryByOwner is an strictly an advertising company.  The only fee you pay is for the advertisment itself.

  Can I advertise my home if I am already under contract with a real estate agent?
  Yes, there is a drop down selection on the submission for that you must select "w/Real Estate Agent".

  How do I get my homes photo on the search page as opposed to having to click on the more info/pics button?
  The small pictures to the left of the ads on the base pages (search pages) are associated with our Home Tour Plus package.  If you have selected either our Home Tour or Basic Ad packages you would need to login to your account and upgrade to the Home Tour Plus package.

  How do you search for a specific ad number?
  On the HomePage there is a field (Ad Number) on the Home Search Form to search on a specific ad number.  Type the ad number into the this field and click on "search".

  Where is MilitaryByOwner located?
  From 2000-2005 we operated the site out of our home in Stafford, Virginia.  During 2006 we opened an office in Fredericksburg, Virginia:  The physical address is 1211 Caroline Street; Fredericksburg, Virginia 22401.

  What does "Under Contract" and "Lease Pending" mean?
  The term "Under Contract" indicates that the advertiser has a contract on the property but has not sold yet.  The term "Lease Pending" indicates that the property owner has a renter, but the details of the lease are not complete.  These two categories allow the advertisement to remain on the site in the event the deals falls through.

  How can I change my property address?
  The Property Address cannot be changed from your user account.  If you need to make a correction please let us know the correction via email or our live chat service.

  How do I make changes to my advertisement?
  You can make changes to your advertisement (pictures and/or text) by logging into your account and editing your advertisement.  If you have any problems, please contact us via our online form or our live chat service.

  How do I add pictures to my property advertisment?
  

To add pictures to your advertisment login to your account and open the advertisment in question.  Within the ad form, you will see fields for 5-10 pictures depending on the ad package you chose.  Click on the Browse button to the right and navigate to the location of the image file on your harddrive and click OK.  You will see the path name to your image in the picture field.  Click Save at the bottom of the form.  Make sure you only try to upload image files such as .jpg or .gif.  Pictures within PowerPoint, Word, PDF files are not images and will not upload.

  How do I upgrade my ad from a "Home Tour " ad to a "Home Tour Plus" ad?
  When you login to your account and view your advertisement you will find an upgrade button that will walk you through the upgrade process.

  When attaching pictures to my ad, what is the largest size photo that can be attached? (ie. 1.2Meg, 3Megs, etc?)
  We don't have a set limit for picture file sizes, however, we recommend you try and keep your file size around 1MB not to exceed 2MB.

  What is 'ad title'?
  On the submisson form there is a field named "Ad Title".  This is an optional field that establishes the non-visible title in the pages Meta-Tags.  Our recommendation would be to put your city name in a phrase such as "Tampa, Florida Home" or "Tampa, Florida 4 bedroom home with pool".  Three to nine words would be the maximum you would want.

  Can I purchase yard signs even if I don't sign-up for the Home Tour Plus Package?
  Yes, we now offer several different combinations of yard signs as "ad-ons" to our Basic, and Home Tour Ad Packages

  How long will it take for my yard signs to arrive?
  Our yard signs are sent USPS Priority Mail, and should arrive within 3-5 days of ad submission.
